About Course

This course is the online companion to CS-302 Database Systems (3+1 credit hours). You will model a problem domain with entity-relationship diagrams, turn it into a normalised relational schema, query and update it with SQL, and see how transactions keep data correct when many users work at once.

Each topic has video lectures, downloadable notes and a short quiz. Pass the final assessment to complete the course and earn your certificate.

What Will You Learn?

  • Model a problem domain with entity-relationship diagrams
  • Turn a model into tables with primary and foreign keys
  • Normalise a schema to third normal form
  • Write SQL to create, query, join and update tables
  • Explain transactions, ACID and concurrency control
